I’m envious of all those who have OOO replies turned on this week. My summer was not the one I planned, but it has been great, nonetheless. I’m working as much as ever but in a healthier way than I was. One kid got dropped off at college last week and he’s thriving. Next week the other twin starts her adventure. My vacation plans were dashed, but in the next 6 weeks I’ll visit Savannah, Madrid, Toronto, and Denver and so staying home and preparing for another event-harvesting season is fine.

Just like everyone else, the key is to try to get work done while somehow being on Zoom calls all day long that generate more work. The work itself varies from the mundane stuff to envisioning the future of things. No one can afford to be just tactical or just strategic: you have to do both. It’s hard, but it’s hard for everyone. 

Hard times create opportunities. Weigh in, don’t just watch. Conversely don’t just commiserate. Shake your head because you don’t understand, don’t just nod along. Challenge, don’t accept.
