ADvendio announced a strategic relationship with Op2mise, (a product of Virtual AI) to “Revolutionize Broadcasting Solutions”. We asked Matthew Rohrs, Sales Director at ADvendio, to elaborate on this announcement:

Rob Beeler: In what ways are internet-based television and on-demand services like FAST channels a challenge to traditional broadcasters?

Matthew Rohrs: The rise of digital advertising within traditional publishers has created an unfortunate need to manage two completely separate systems. Digital is easily connected to other platforms within the ecosystem and is flexible, whereas traditional linear only has a select few complimentary platforms to work with and is incredibly inflexible. This limits options for publishers to get creative, to minimize costs, maximize efficiencies, and unify their workflows. The legacy linear systems lack the connectivity and flexibility needed to match the abilities of their digital counterparts. API connections, open architecture, etc just aren’t part of that legacy workflow, and that’s what we hope to bring to the marketplace: a platform that is truly open and connected to everyone’s advertising inventory regardless of the underlying system’s compatibility.

Rob Beeler: How does this partnership help to strengthen the capabilities of broadcasters?

Matthew Rohrs: At ADvendio, we’re all about bringing together a client’s disparate advertising products, regardless of what technology they’re built on. Many legacy broadcast and cable systems are closed off to the world and are difficult to work with because they were built at a time before interoperability was even on the horizon. Op2mise and ADvendio’s partnership will allow broadcasters to keep these legacy systems in place (unchanged), while connecting them seamlessly into their ever evolving digital tech-stack, allowing for true linear and digital unification. It saves the broadcaster the massive investment and disruption required to rebuild these systems for the modern age.
