Remember a couple of weeks ago when I mentioned the first Beeler.Tech event was a training class on Ad Ops management? Two things:

Rick Monihan was key in standing up that event. He’s battling Glioblastoma. Have him in your thoughts while focusing on what’s important in your life (which shouldn’t be ad tech).

At that event, I said that ad ops management is 50% putting out fires, 50% being strategic, and 50% managing people. You could argue that my point doesn’t make sense, yet I stand by the statement. It’s a role where you continuously juggle different objects, and someone keeps throwing new things into the mix: chainsaws, flaming marshmallows, rabid chipmunks…

As we approach Base Camp Amelia Island (which is sold out, btw. Yay!), Navigator NYC and Camp.Fire (tomorrow!), our approach is to help on any front we can. There is no single topic for publishers to focus on. The biggest issue a community member might be facing is corporate restructuring, a monthly reconciliation gone south, or just trying to make sure they can explain to their husbands who “PA API” is.

Diving deeper into these topics makes sense, but stepping back is also important. Two of our keynote speakers at Base Camp aren’t focused on ad tech. They’re focused on improving communication and creating connections. Because, at the end of the day, this is a relationship business. “Everything is a network” says Eric Seufert. I say that includes the people themselves. Rick, your network is with you.

Base Campers – Fill out the survey or you risk me having fun with your badge. The sustainability prep call was amazing and worth a watch. I expect some good things to come out of the conference on that front.

We are SOLD OUT! Could we wedge in another publisher or two? We’d be happy to try. Make sure we know if you’re still interested in attending.

Camp.Fire: Direct Sold
February 21 at 1 p.m. ET
Yes, it’s a webinar, but not like most webinars. This is our virtual roundtable taken to a different level with experts on every call and an audience. We ask some experts to kick off the conversation, sharing their perspectives. From there we dive into a roundtable discussion with opinionated and knowledgeable members of our community. We push all of them to bring insightful ideas on how to move the conversation forward. Like our Base Camp events, but virtual, and everyone can watch.
